Finance Director -

The Finance Director is in charge of looking after the accounts and budgeting for the entire trip. As a limited company, and with the largest budget of any student-run organisation in Oxbridge, it’s a big responsibility. It requires a meticulous eye for detail, careful organisation and, of course, excellent arithmetic ability. Proficiency with Google Sheets/Excel is a must.

Events Director -

Varsity Trip is about more than just skiing, and a huge proportion of this is down to our memorable opening and closing parties, incredibly varied midweek events, the Varsity Ski Races, and of course, Après. Previous years featured events such as Mountain Meal, Come Dine with VT, Silent Disco and Blues Bop – what can you bring to this year’s trip? In our Events Director we’re looking for ambition, vision and creativity in coming up with new events as well as excellent organisation and planning skills. An eye for detail and a love of throwing a party are key for this role.

Production Director -

The production director is the main point of contact with the production company. You’ll completely transform the Sports Hall for the Opening and Closing Night Parties, and be in charge of booking the headliners for the trip. You’ll work closely with the Events Director to assist with any production elements needed for other events, and particularly sharing responsibility with aprés.

College Reps Director -

The College Reps Coordinator’s responsibility is primarily to recruit and supervise the 60 or so College Reps, ensuring that they’re answering as many questions about the trip as they can within their College. The role is really about informing participants and Reps, so excellent people management and communication skills are essential for this role. A good memory for names helps too! They are also in charge of answering any questions that come through the Facebook Page or by email and so need to be organised in responding to messages.

Design Director -

The creative vision behind the trip, the design director creates the visuals, logos and templates we use to make Varsity Trip so iconic. If you fancy leaving your mark on the trip then there’s no better way than by creating your own vision and seeing it distributed to thousands of people. A great ability in art and design is essential and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or a similar digital art software is desirable.

Merchandise Director -

To go along with the events, skiing and aprés, Varsity Trip always boasts a line of eye-catching merchandise. Ranging from booking-day T-shirts to headbands to custom quarter zips, the merchandise director should have a creative vision for developing a range of products and be comfortable with communicating with big suppliers to organise efficient delivery and distribution of goods.

Marketing Director -

Marketing Director is a hugely varied role, involving running all Varsity social media accounts, drafting and publishing regular posts, and advertising all aspects of the Trip. They should have good writing skills, with an eye for detail (and typos!), an ability to think on their feet, and an abundance of ideas for the next biggest VT social media launch! A passion for creativity is useful but by no means required!

Sponsorship director -

Varsity Trip partners with some of the biggest brands and companies to bring unique aspects to the trip. Previous sponsors have included Red Bull, Newton and Tinder and we can’t wait to see who we’ll be partnering with in 2022. The sponsorship director must be comfortable reaching out to companies, communicating promptly and professionally, and also able to think outside of the box to come up with ways which our partners can best be displayed on the trip.
