THE RESORT

Literally the best resort in the world

We're not the only fans of Val Thorens, the resort just won 'Best Resort' at the World Ski Awards for the fifth time. Situated in a vast natural cirque overlooked by 6 glaciers, the ski area offers hundreds of kilometres of slopes so you can ski in the sunshine all day long.

THE EVENTS

The highest party in the Alps

Each year, Varsity Trip ships several lorries worth of equipment out to the Alps to put on some spectacular parties for our 3,000 guests. This year will be no exception, with the venue unique for the altitude it operates at. Acts in the past have included Calivn Harris, Tinie Tempah, Sigma & Sigala. We're already hard at work matching that calibre this year.

Teaching Oxbridge how to ski since 1922

Every year we take hundreds of first time skiers to the Alps. We provide an incredible package of lessons, equipment, clothing - the whole lot - so that your week is as hassle free as possible. Watch how our beginner got on last year for a taste of what is possible.

THE Races

Ski races older than the Winter Olympics

Varsity Trip has a history stretching back 96 years. The first races were hosted in 1922, two years before the Winter Olympics began. Since then hundreds of students have raced in one of skiing's most traditional races.

Who can I talk to learn more/who is my rep?

We're a friendly bunch and have lots of ways for you to get in touch. Meet your college rep by going to varsitytrip.com/reps They'll help you at your college Fresher's Fair and be ready to answer any question for you, big or small. We're also on Facebook a fair bit (a lot) - send us a message via our page and we'll get back to you asap.

When is it?

The trip always immediately follows the last week of Michaelmas term in Oxford & Cambridge. This year that means leaving on the evening of Friday 30th November and returning on Saturday 8th December.

Do I need to know how to ski/board?

No! The best thing about the modern Varsity Trip is the number of beginners that we take to the Alps each year. Over half the trip have never skied or skied only once before. We also have an extremely competitively priced beginners package that includes lessons and equipment hire.

How much is it?

The trip has historically been the cheapest seven days in the Alps you've been able to get. The price for this year is yet to be confirmed, keep a look out on our social media in September/October time in the run up to booking day.

What is Varsity Trip?

Varsity Trip is the annual Oxford & Cambridge ski trip. Running since 1922, the trip is the oldest and largest of it's kind. We even started before the Winter Olympics! The trip began as a series of gruelling races between the two universities. Today the races remain, but 25% of the trip are beginners and mid-week events ensure those who don't ski have a great time too.
